I have been led to publish them partly by the urgent request of those to whom they were delivered, and to whom they will, I trust, recall some of the deepest feelings and most solemn moments of their lives- partly because friends in whose judgment I have great confidence have thought them likely, under the blessing of Almighty God, to be extensively useful.
